er eitt stærsta útgáfufyrirtæki landsins. Það gefur út bækur undir merkjum JPV, Máls og menningar, Vöku-Helgafells, Ókeibóka og Iðunnar og rekur einnig metnaðarfulla kortaútgáfu. Hjá Forlaginu koma út um 150 nýir titlar ár hvert; bækur af öllu tagi og gerðum og á ýmsum tungumálum. Þar er einnig rekin Réttindastofa Forlagsins sem selur útgáfurétt af íslenskum bókum til erlendra útgefenda. Hjá Forlaginu starfa rúmlega 40 starfsmenn og einn köttur  – þróunarstjórinn Nói.
