Höfundur: Sigurjón Magnússon

In the summer of 1918 the Bolsheviks executed Tsar Nicholas Romanov and his family in the city Ekaterinburg. This event struck the nations of Europe with horror.

More than two decades later one of the executioners, the Chekist Peter Ermakov, leads high ranking party members from Moscow through the infamous Ipatiev house where the family was imprisoned and ultimately killed. He describes the growing tension and the horrors of these sweltering summer days when the Romanov dynasty finally came to an end.

The Edge of the World was nominated for the Icelandic Literary Awards, Iceland’s most prestigious book prize. Sigurjón Magnússon published his first novel Good Night, Silja in 1997, and is today one of Iceland’s leading contemporary novelists.
